BOSTON – A Boston man has pleaded not guilty in connection with the killings of four people during a drug-related robbery.
Edward Washington was arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court on Wednesday on four counts of first-degree murder, armed assault with intent to murder, and other offenses. He's being held without bail.
The 31-year-old is one of three men accused of playing a role in the Sept. 28 shootings in the city's Mattapan neighborhood that resulted in the deaths of four people, including a 2-year-old boy, and left a fifth victim paralyzed below the shoulders.
Prosecutors say the five were shot during the robbery of a drug dealer.
Washington's lawyer has said he had nothing to do with the slayings.
