Police: Worker's slaying led to hospital lockdown

Police in Maryland say a Suburban Hospital worker was killed at the facility, which was locked down for four hours while detectives investigated the slaying.

Police in Maryland say a Suburban Hospital worker was killed at the facility, which was locked down for four hours while detectives investigated the slaying.

Montgomery County Police spokeswoman Lucille Baur says officers called to the Bethesda hospital Saturday morning found an employee suffering from trauma to his upper body. The worker was pronounced dead at the scene. Baur says the 40-year-old man was found in a part of the hospital not used for patient care. She says his death is being investigated as a homicide.

Baur says the hospital has reopened. She says no arrests have been made, though there's no reason to believe others were in danger.

The man's body has been take to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy. His name is not being released until relatives are notified of his death.
